PRETENDING THINGS ARE A COCK

Pretending Things are a Cock is a photographic exhibition, live performance and book created by Australian comedian Jon Bennett.

Made up of countless photos of pretend-phalluses protruding from his groin area, Bennett’s ‘cocks’ include anything from ordinary household utensils, to monuments around the world, to basically anything he can get his hands (or groin) on.

What started as just a joke between friends has now taken on a life of its own, with thousands of fans worldwide and rave reviews that just keep on coming.

As an exhibition, PTAAC has been displayed at The Urban Cow Studio for the 2010 Adelaide Fringe and at the Grace Darling Hotel for the 2010 Melbourne International Comedy Festival.

The PTAAC live show is the product of Bennett’s three years of global wandering, and combines the artistic, phallic-filled photographic display with hilarious and surprisingly heart-wrenching tales from Bennett’s life.

This Just for Laughs award-nominated show for Best Comedy has now been performed to sell-out audiences at the Adelaide Fringe (2010/2013), Melbourne International Comedy Festival (2010/2011), Vancouver, Montreal Fringe Festivals (2010), Edmonton Fringe (2011), Winnipeg Fringe Festival (2012), Edinburgh Fringe, Pleasance Courtyard (2012), Woodford Folk Festival (2012/13)  Fringe World Perth (2013), Brisbane Comedy Festival (2013) & Sydney Comedy Festival (2013) .

A unique stand-up experience, PTAAC is a hilarious, but also strangely affecting pot-holed journey into the idiosyncratic world of Jon Bennett.
